UAE Government Holds Consultative Meetings to Develop the Directions of the Next 50 Plan

His Excellency Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the 50-year Development Plan Committee, stressed the importance of harnessing national governmental and societal efforts to collaboratively build the future of the UAE. This goes in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to design creative plans for a new stage of development over the next five decades and ensure a better future for next generations.

On the occasion of launching a series of consultative and coordination meetings with the participation of ministers, officials, secretaries general of the executive councils, and representatives of federal and local government entities, HE Al Gergawi stated that these meetings are held in line with the leadership’s directives to enhance joint work and coordination among all stakeholders to develop the Next 50 Plan. The meetings are held pursuant the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to enhance readiness for the future and adopt a proactive approach to anticipate challenges and achieve goals in preparation for the next 50 years.

The aim of the meetings is to draw the visions and future directions of the UAE in 6 main areas, namely government; society; economy; education; infrastructure and environmental sustainability; security, justice and safety; as part of the 50-year Plan. ““2020: Towards the Next 50” is an important milestone in the UAE’s developmental march. It ushers a new phase of accelerated economic, social and development renaissance in the UAE, to enable it rank first globally by its Centennial,” HE Al Gergawi added.
